Ajayi Julius Bamidele holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accountancy from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka and a Master Degree in Accounting from University of Lagos. He is a Fellow of Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN).
He trained as auditor with various with various professional firms before joining the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) in 1993 and was in 2013 appointed Coordinating Director, Field Operations Group and later Domestic Taxes Group where he had oversight for tax operations nationawide. He was the immdediate past Chairman of Tax Faculty Committee and current Chairman, Public Sector Committee of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN).
Bamidele represented the FIRS at the boards of Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND), Nigerian Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (NEITI) National Stakeholders Working Group (NSWG) and Joint Tax Board. He was also a memeber of the United Nations (UN) Sub-committee on Transfer Pricing and the Organization for Economic Cooperaton and Development (OECD) Task Force Committee for Developing Countries He was also a member of the United Nations Sub-Committee that developed Transfer Pricing Manual for the Developing countries consequent to spearheading of development and gazette of the Nigerian Transfer Pricing Regulations. Mr. Bamidele has attended several executive management courses locally and overseas including the Comparative Tax Administration programme of the Harvard University Kennnedy School of Government. He is a member of Tax Appeal Tribunal.
